Keiley – A True Team Leader

Keiley Paltridge is based at our Armidale Home Nursing Group office and was recently promoted to the position of Team Leader.

We talked to Keiley about her passion for home care and how her role has progressed at Home Nursing Group.

Like many employees at Home Nursing Group, Keiley Paltridge started out working in the field as an Assistant In Nursing (AIN). Since September 2017 when Keiley started with us, Keiley has proven her caring nature, genuine empathy and accountability within the role. This has led to her recently being promoted to a Team Leader at the Armidale office.

Within the role of Team Leader, she is now the coordinator of the direct Care Workers for the New England team.

Keiley originates from Mount Gambier, South Australia. From the south she has state hopped across to Victoria, then up north to Queensland, and has now settled in-between in New South Wales.

Keiley has 25 years’ experience within the Nursing Home and Retirement Home industry, but Home Care has proved to be a very different and positive experience for her.

“The most important thing I’ve learnt from my field work is to truly listen. When you are one on one with a client, with no distractions, it’s just wonderful. Sometimes you are the clients only contact with the outside, and they truly make the most of it”, says Keiley.

Field staff play a fundamental role within the lives of our clients by supporting them to maintain their health and home, assistance with reablement, support with social activities. They are the brand ambassadors of Home Nursing Group who play an active face-to-face role within their clients home and community, to help them achieve and regain their independence.

Keiley has also lived in New Zealand for 3 years. During her time there she branched out from the caring field and worked for Fastway Couriers in Whangarei, North Island. Keiley was also driving Mafi trucks (massive fuel trucks) at Port Whangarei, where they unloaded logs from the ships.

It was after her stint in New Zealand that Keiley spotted an advertisement to work for Home Nursing Group. She submitted her application online, had an interview and was successful in securing a position as an AIN.

Through the support and ongoing training received from Home Nursing Group, Keiley has been very appreciative of the transition from field to office, “Everyone has been really encouraging and extremely supportive, ensuring the transition has been smooth and less daunting than anticipated”.

Keiley continues, “What I love about Home Nursing Group is the company will give you a go. You can move up and progress within the business. Most of the Care and Support Coordinators were Assistants In Nursing and that’s awesome. It demonstrates that this really is a caring company”.

Keiley’s carers tip seems simple yet crucial in delivering exceptional care, “Listen and engage. Even when doing service like Domestic Assistance. Always do the best you can, they will know if you are trying and it will leave your client smiling”.

Other than Keiley’s passion to help older people live at home for as long as possible, when not at work she loves to spend time with her wife and children.

“I would just like to thank HNG, especially my manager for giving me such a wonderful work opportunity, I love my work and my job”, Keiley concluded.

Congratulations Keiley! Home Nursing Group and our clients are very grateful to have you.
