Tamworth’s 65 years and older residents will benefit from more home care services, with the official opening of Home Nursing Group’s office last week.

“We recognise why it is so important for people to stay in their homes longer and lead healthier lives than ever,” said Acting Prime Minister Joyce. “People should be able to choose how they live into their old age and what services they use to support them. The Coalition Government is delivering this choice in care for them through organisations such as Home Nursing Group.”

Gorm Kirsch, Home Nursing Group’s owner, thanked Acting Prime Minister Joyce: “as a locally-owned home care provider, based in the region, we look forward to being able to provide even more high-quality, personalised services for older people in the area. We recognise that people in regional and rural areas are often disadvantaged by a lack of access to services and are we are committed to providing local and high quality care ”.

Home Nursing Group stands apart from the others

Gorm Kirsch noted Home Nursing Group’s commitment to the local community, demonstrated by having local offices: “With us you will never be a number, dealing with a central office far away. For us, our customers are our neighbours and friends. We already serve more than 250 customers in and around Tamworth, and they are all welcome to drop in any time to discuss their services, or just for a friendly chat.”

Older Australians are increasingly choosing to live at home for longer, and Acting Prime Minister Joyce said: “The Government’s new MyAgedCare website is a great tool for older people and their families to easily find information about local services and how to access them.”

Home Nursing Group continues to grow

Acting Prime Minister Joyce reminded the audience that aged care reform is continuing, with new initiatives to increase choice for consumers coming in 2017: “The Turnbull Coalition Government is committed to ensuring our reforms lead to improved value for money and better quality for older Australians.”

Gorm Kirsch thanked his team for their role in helping the business grow four-fold in the past three years. “We are 100% committed to Tamworth, and look forward to meeting the needs of older people in the area”.

The new Tamworth office is the fourth Home Nursing Group has opened in the past two years, as the business responds to the ever-increasing demand for high quality home care.

Home Nursing Group customers can access a wide range of Government-subsidised care and support.
