Office staff from across HNG teams and all four locations were able to travel to Armidale and participate and contribute in the day’s activities. Participants included Care and Support Coordinators, Team Leaders, Finance and Intake Officers from the Armidale, Coffs Harbour, Tamworth and Port Macquarie offices.
The workshop was led by Lorraine Poulos, an experienced consultant who specialises in supporting health and aged care providers across Australia. She originally trained as a Registered Nurse and has post graduate qualifications in both Health Service Management and Adult Education.
HNG Proprietor and Managing Director, Gorm Kirsch introduced the day with a summary of HNG’s recent progress, sharing that between 2014-16 HNG has seen enormous growth, especially in the Port Macquarie area, and that HNG has grown five times as a whole during last seven years.
This is positive motivation to ensure that our planning is on point to handle even more growth. Aged care is a fast paced industry and HNG is not a company to sit still, endeavouring to drive the company forward.
The question we asked ourselves at the workshop was simple – what do our clients want? HNG’s goal is to deliver exceptional home care and assist older people live the lives they want.
We discussed the future of home care in Australia, changing community expectations, identifying new clients, managing future growth, market place competition, staff career progression and company transparency. Staff examined what HNG do well, and shared ideas about what could be improved.
HNG provides regular training and strategic workshops to improve the service we provide to our clients. Education and training within the home nursing industry are vital to ensure safe practices, better business performance, maintain staff morale, and above all, client satisfaction.
HNG staff and management will continue to lead in industry standards and work together cohesively as a team. At the end of the day, HNG’s goal is to put the needs and wants of our clients before anything else.
