Michael Kennedy is a Care and Support Coordinator and Registered Nurse at Home Nursing Group, based at their Port Macquarie office. He is the recipient of the Staff Recognition and Appreciation Program for the month of April.
Every month, through nomination by their colleagues, a staff member who exemplifies Home Nursing Group’s core values is announced. Home Nursing Group’s five core values are made up of Trust, Respect, Empathy, Accountability and Teamwork – TREAT.
Congratulations Michael, how do you feel about the recognition?
I am very grateful that I have been selected for this and would like to say thank you. I’ve been at Home Nursing Group just over twelve months now and really enjoy the work I do and the great people I work with, who are all very supportive and passionate about what they do.
It’s a great industry to work in and even greater when we take the time to reflect on our achievements and the positive differences we make to our clients and their families.
What do the TREAT values meant to you?
I have worked in healthcare for 29 years in many different roles. So for me, the TREAT values are in line with my core values I have lived and worked by over this time which sets the standards, attitudes and behaviour to guide my judgement and ethics.
Why do you think they are important?
The TREAT values are important as they reveal the nature of the culture and identify what the organisation cares about.
I believe it’s important that we align with these values and understand them, so we do the right things for the right reasons.
This understanding assists us to build great working relationships with all stakeholders and helps the organisation to provide exceptional service.
